# Communication

> Nodes that reach out to people, by text message, email, or Slack.

Communication nodes let a workflow reach the people who need to hear from it: a
text to a customer, an email with an attached document, or a Slack message to the
team. Use them to send confirmations, deliver documents, or raise a heads-up the
moment a run reaches a point that matters.

Send a direct message to a Slack user.

Channel Message and Direct Message need a connected Slack account. Connect Slack
once from the [Marketplace](https://app.meetgail.com/marketplace), and the
workflow can then post on your behalf. Send SMS and Send Email work without any
extra setup.
