# AgencyZoom Add Lead Note

> Adds a note to an AgencyZoom lead by id.

The Add Lead Note node writes a note onto a lead's record in AgencyZoom. Use it to
leave a trail of what a workflow did or found, so your team sees it the next time
they open the lead.

## When to use it

* You want to record what a workflow did on a lead.
* You want to flag something for your team to follow up on.
* You looked up a lead and want to leave a note on its record.

## Inputs

| Field | What it's for                                      | Example                                 |
| ----- | -------------------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------- |
| Lead  | The lead to add the note to, identified by its id. | `12345`                                 |
| Note  | The note text. Cannot be empty.                    | `Follow-up call scheduled by workflow.` |

Both fields can be fixed values or [expressions](/platform/workflows/core-concepts/expressions/using-expressions-in-nodes)
that read from an earlier step.

## Outputs

On success the node returns a confirmation that the note was added, including the
new note's id when AgencyZoom provides one.

## Example

A workflow chasing stale leads finds Marcus Johnson's quote has gone quiet. It uses
Add Lead Note to record `Automated follow-up email sent` on his lead, so his agent
sees the outreach already happened before calling him.

> **Note**
>
> The note text cannot be empty. If it comes from an earlier step and turns out
> blank when the run happens, the node hands back a failure instead of adding an
> empty note - so you can branch on it and skip or fix the note.
