# JotForm

> Start a workflow from a JotForm submission, or submit answers to a JotForm form.

JotForm works with Workflows in both directions:

* **A JotForm submission can start a workflow.** Connect an existing form, or
  have Gail build one, and every new submission starts a run. This is set up on
  the Start node, not with a node of its own - see
  [Triggers & Webhooks](/platform/workflows/core-concepts/triggers-webhooks) for
  the guided setup, the hidden secret field, and pinning your forms.
* **The Submit node sends answers to a JotForm form**, just as if someone had
  filled it in. Use it to feed data your workflow gathered into a JotForm intake
  or record form.

> **Note**
>
> The Submit node uses a JotForm API key rather than a Marketplace connection.
> Store your API key as a workflow [Secret](/platform/workflows/core-concepts/secrets)
> and reference it from the node - the key field only accepts a secret, not plain
> text. The **JotForm** tile in the
> [Marketplace](https://app.meetgail.com/marketplace) is only for starting
> workflows from submissions.
