# SFTP

> Nodes that list, download, and upload files on a remote SFTP server.

SFTP nodes let a workflow move files to and from a remote SFTP server: see what is
in a directory, pull a file into the run, or push a file out. Use them to pick up
files a partner drops for you, or to deliver files your workflow produced.

> **Note**
>
> SFTP nodes are not connected in the Marketplace. Each node takes the server host,
> a username, and either a password or a private key. Store the password or key as
> a workflow [Secret](/platform/workflows/core-concepts/secrets) and reference it from the
> node - it cannot be typed in as plain text.
