# Node Reference

> Every building block you can drop into a workflow, grouped by what it does.

Nodes are the building blocks of a workflow. Each one does a single job, from
making a decision to sending a message to filling a PDF. You wire them together
on the canvas, and the run flows from one node to the next.

The reference is organized into families by capability. Start with the family
that matches what you are trying to do, then open a node's page for its inputs,
outputs, and a worked example.
